Common questions

Can I self-host Konobase?

Yes. The Enterprise plan includes private cloud (your AWS, Azure, or GCP account) and on-premises deployment as a single binary. No external dependencies beyond a server.

Is Konobase HIPAA compliant?

Enterprise deployments are HIPAA compatible. We sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and the audit log, access control, and encryption controls meet PHI data handling requirements.

What protocols does Konobase support?

All plans include S3-compatible API, WebDAV mount, and SFTP access. Your data works with any tool that already speaks these standard protocols — no SDK required.

How does AI fit in?

AI is on our roadmap as a native layer — not a bolt-on. For Enterprise, you can run self-hosted models (Ollama, vLLM) or bring your own API keys. Your data never trains any third-party model.

What authentication methods are supported?

Passkeys (WebAuthn), OAuth via GitHub, Google, and Azure AD, and email OTP. Enterprise adds SAML 2.0 / SSO for identity provider integration.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Start on Starter or Professional and upgrade to Enterprise when you need it. Migrations between deployment models are supported with full data portability.
